Leila Zonouzi is a Ph.D. candidate in Global Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Her dissertation research is a comparative diasporic study between Iran, Egypt, and Turkey, where she looks at securitization and its effects on the creation of diasporas. Prior to her doctoral studies at UCSB, Leila received a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Tehran and an MFA in Creative Writing from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Leila will be working with Professor Janet Afary in Fall quarter 2020.
